Best Match You’ve been involved in : For the pure sense of occasion, euphoria and the comeback, the 2008 IFC Final.
Best game ever seen : The above on DVD, Also Dublin v Derry 1993 All Ireland Semi Final.
Best player played with/against : With: Current crop of young boys for sheer athleticism and strength are unreal / Against: John McVeigh – Newbridge and St Mary’s Magherafelt, I was a class full back then, but he was something else… averaged about 10 points a game each time we played them.(Maybe I wasn’t a class full back after all then!)
Best player ever seen : Maybe not the best, but a favourite was Teddy McCarthy (Cork) or Maurice Fitzgerald (Kerry)
Honours/Achievements : U-12, U-151/2, U-16 SWFL Winners. U-16 NAHL Div 2 Winner. ACFL D3 Winner. Senior Feis Cup winner. All County IFC winner… Whammo!
Fav thing about the GAA : Friendships, memories and families.
Our IFC win showed all that is good about GAA; Winning it meant so much to everyone in the community, not just the players. |
Least fav thing about the GAA : That they don’t play all their games on a Friday night leaving us with the weekend free / Games being changed at short notice.
Favourite pitch : Slemish Park then Casement Park
Advice for juveniles : GAA membership: not just a piece of paper, it’s a state of mind.
Fav Music : Have a very varied taste in music.
Hobbies : Net minding.
Pet Hate : Cheats.
Other sports played : Too busy with the GAA to even contemplate others!
Ambition : It was to win a county c’ship with the club, so now it’s to win a senior c’ship. Also for the club to develop into the first class sporting organisation that it has the potential to do.
If I won the Lotto : More Gloves and Kicking Tees.
