Registration Day at All Saints GAC

All Saints GAC held their Annual Registration Day on Sunday to give playing and non-playing members the opportunity to pay their membership for the coming season. The day received a good response but all those who have not yet paid their membership for 2012 can do so by contacting any committee member or by simply giving their membership form and payment to their coach. Players are reminded that if they have not paid their membership then they are not insured or indeed eligible to play in competitions.

Ethnic Minorities Children to Sample the Delights of the Caman

The club’s Ethnic Minorities project swaps the leather for the ash this weekend as hurling and camogie take centre stage. Upwards of 50 children continue to attend the coaching each Saturday morning in the Ballymena North Centre and great fun is being had by all. In 4 short weeks the participants have gone from never having experienced gaelic football to hand passing and soloing with the best of them. The coaching gets under way at 10.00am for 4 weeks (with a break for St. Patrick’s day). Why not come along and support the mentors and children involved.
If you can’t help with the coaching just coming along to watch what is surely the first project of its kind in Ulster, never mind Ireland is support enough.

All Saints Looking Ahead

The juvenile coaches at All Saint’s GAC are keeping a keen eye on the future of gaelic games in the town of Ballymena. Faciliated by the GAA’s Ulster Council the club’s junior coaches in Football, Camogie and Hurling recently took part in a seminar aimed at developing Sustainable Juvenile Coaching Models.

A two session programme, the event follows on from the successful completion of the club’s most recent 3 year juvenile development plan. During the period of this plan juvenile activity at the club witnessed many successes including a major increase in playing numbers, additional qualifications for coaches, a juvenile social calendar of events and greater involvement of parents in the life of the club. The second seminar takes place in St. Brigid’s P.S. on Thursday 8th March at 6.30pm.

Pictured above are the All Saints juvenile mentors and Ulster Council facilitators, Eoghan Gribbin and Eamon Crilly.
