U14s Make It Six Unbeaten
All Saints 3-11 Moneyglass 0-4
All Saints U14’s made it six games unbeaten after a good victory away to Moneyglass on Friday night. Niall McCarry opened the scoring in the second minute with a great point of the outside of his right foot. Minutes later Ciaran McLarnon found the top corner with a powerful shot and All Saints led by 4. Connell Lemon extended the lead with a point after a good run and when Owen O’Loughlin hit the net after a goal mouth scramble the lead was now 8.
Long range points from McLarnon and Lee Kirk meant that All Saints went in at the break with a scoreline of 2-5 to 0-2 without really dominating the game. They started the second half brightly and fired over a few quick points from Dunne, McLarnonn, Kirk and a great point of the left foot from Rory Kinney.
He should have hit the net a minute later but a great block from the full back kept the ball out. Eoin Campbell had been introduced at this stage and won his side a penalty when he looked like he would score. He took the responsibility himself and coolly slotted the ball into the corner of the net. Another point from McLarnon rounded off the scoring and gave him a personal tally of 1-5 from midfield.
This was a comfortable victory as the scoreline suggests and was achieved without really hitting top gear. They played some good football in patches but will have to play like this for the full game when facing tougher opposition in the games to come.
Well done boys.
