U12 Ground Skills Competition

We are hosting an U12 hurling blitz at Slemish Park this Thursday evening, 02^nd July. Five teams will compete; All Saints, Sean Stinsons, Randalstown, Rasharkin and Creggan.

This is a ten-a-side, ground hurling competition (no lifting or striking from the hand). Each match will last 15minutes (7.5 minutes each way).

The event is part of the Glens Feis and the top two teams will go forward to play in the divisional final on Feis Sunday, 05^th July in Glenarm.

 

Players should be at Slemish Park for 06:30.

 

Cúl Camp

All Saints are holding a Cúl Camp at Slemish Park next week, 06^th – 10^th July from 10:00 – 14:30 for children aged 7 – 13.

A Saffron Óg camp for 4 – 6 year olds will run alongside the Cúl Camp, Monday to Thursday from 10:30 – 12:30.

 

Please note that the Cúl Camp is for football only. A number of hurling camps will be held at various venues in North Antrim throughout the summer. Refer to the attached Summer Hurling Programme for dates and venues.

Please refer to the attached fixture list for U12 and U10 matches and blitzes. Players and parents should note that there are a few changes to the original list which was circulated a few weeks ago. Dates for a couple of matches which were called off earlier have still to be sorted; we hope to arrange these sometime in August.

Coaching Course for Parents

It is great to see so many parents getting involved with coaching. You are doing a great job. Your time and effort is appreciated by team mentors and the children.

Following enquires by some parents we are considering running a coaching workshop. The purpose is to identify the basic skills of hurling and show how these can be taught to children. We hope therefore, that parents will feel more confident when helping at sessions and when encouraging children to practise their skills at home. This will be an informal event where coaches will share lessons learned from their experience of coaching youngsters and we hope parents will teach the coaches a thing or two as well. If you are interested, speak to one of the coaches or contact Paddy (07708878968) and we will organise a time that suits.
